Beschrijving
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), also known as the Queen of the Meadows, is a flowering herb that grows primarily in moist environments such as swampy areas and riverbanks. This herb has clustered white flowers that have a pleasant and sweet smell.
Meadowsweet has been used for centuries in folk medicine to relieve joint pain, heartburn and more. It contains many compounds believed to have anti-inflammatory effects in the body, including salicylates and tannins. Now you also know where the name "aspirin" is derived from.
The meadowsweet we offer grows wild, in its natural habitat. Its wild growth gives it an intense character and a particularly rich taste and aroma.
Attention for a moment Not for persons hypersensitive to salicylates and aspirin. Do not use during pregnancy and nursing. Because of a possible blood-thinning effect, do not use the last 14 days before a surgical or dental procedure. Disclaimer
