Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is a native plant that thrives in sunny, dry areas such as meadows, roadsides and fallow land. You can recognize this impressive plant by its tall, dead straight flower stem and yellow flowers. Mullein is known for its soothing properties for the respiratory system and its positive effects on the immune system. The use of mullein goes back centuries. For example, it was used as a torch by the ancient Greeks and Romans. The hairy leaves were dipped in grease and ignited to give light. Moreover, in popular belief, it was considered a protective plant against evil spirits. The mullein we offer grows wild, in its natural habitat. Its wild growth gives it an intense character and a particularly rich taste and aroma.

Preparation Organic Mullein tea 

Making a tea (or infusion) is an ideal way to benefit from the beneficial effects of organic mullein. How to prepare a cup of healthy mullein tea organic:

• Use 1-2 teaspoons of dried leaves per 250-mL cup.
• Pour just short of boiling water over the herb and let it steep for 10 minutes.
• Add honey if necessary for an extra soothing effect on the throat.
