Marshmallow Organic is the root of the Althaea officinalis which is closely related to the better known Mallow. The root is harvested when the plant is at least 2 years old. Harvesting is best done in the fall when most of the contents are present in the root.

Usage of Marshmallow Organic

The best way to use marshmallow organic is through a cold macerate (so the mucilage is better preserved):

• In proportion 30g to 6 dl of water.
• Allow to infuse for 8 hours.
• Pouring off/sifting.
• 3 bags per day.

  Best not to make an infusion of it with boiling water because the useful nutrients will be lost.

Sustainable packaging

Our herbs are packaged in resealable pouches that protect against light, air, and moisture, helping to preserve their aroma, quality, and properties as well as possible. The pouches are made of paper with a compostable protective layer and are industrially compostable. In many municipalities, they can be disposed of with organic waste. Home composting is also possible, although it may take a bit longer (about 1–2 years). More information about our packaging choice.
