Beschrijving
Elecampane, is the root of the plant Inula helenium, an herbaceous plant in the family Asteraceae. Native to Europe and Asia, this plant has been valued for centuries for its powerful medicinal properties. The medicinal parts of alant are the rhizome and lateral roots, which are harvested from two- to three-year-old plants in the fall. After harvesting, the roots are washed, split, cut and then dried at a temperature not exceeding 45°C.
The Alant root we offer grows wild, in its natural habitat. Its wild growth gives it an intense character and a particularly rich taste and aroma.
