Honeybush tea Organic - 150 gr

Honeybush (Cyclopia intermedia) is a shrub with woody stems with three-part leaves and bright yellow flowers. The tea is made from the fermented leaves and stems of the honeybush shrub. It is grown on the Eastern Cape of South Africa and is closely related to Rooibos tea which originates from the Western Cape of South Africa. The flowers of the Honeybush bush have a honey-like fragrance, which gives the plant and tea its sweet-sounding name. Tea drinkers describe the taste of this particular plant as floral, slightly toasty and similar to honey. Although it is often compared to Rooibos tea, Honeybush is a bit sweeter and fuller in flavor. Some say the taste is "less medicinal" than Rooibos tea. The honeybush we offer grows wild, in its natural habitat. Its wild growth gives it an intense character and a particularly rich taste and aroma.

Preparation Organic Honeybush tea 

Making a tea (or infusion) is an ideal way to benefit from the beneficial effects of organic honeybush. How to easily prepare a cup of healthy honeybush tea organic:

• Put a full teaspoon of honeybush per cup.
• Bring water to a boil and let it stand for a minute to lower the temperature slightly.
• Pour water over the tea leaves.
• Allow tea leaves to steep as long as desired, usually about five minutes or up to seven minutes.
• Strain loose leaves from the cup before drinking.

The pouches are made of paper with a compostable protective layer and are industrially compostable. In many municipalities, they can be disposed of with organic waste.
