Lemonade with stevia leaf and organic mint

Lemonade with stevia leaf and organic mint

A refreshing lemonade without sugar doesn't mean you have to resort to synthetic sweeteners. With a few dried stevia leaves and some fresh or dried mint, you can make a light, plant-based summer drink that you can also store in the refrigerator.

Lemonade with stevia leaf and organic mint

Ingredients

  • 1 l water plat of bruisend
  • 4 à 6 stevia blaadjes bio
  • 1 tl pepermunt bio
  • 1 citroen sap
  • komkommer,gember of takje rozemarijn

Cook Time

  1. 1
Bring 250 ml water to a boil and let it cool slightly to approximately 90°C.
  2. 2
Add the stevia leaves and mint and let steep for 15 minutes under a lid. Longer steeping gives a stronger sweetness but also a slightly more bitter aftertaste: taste and adjust the steeping time to your preference.
  3. 3
Strain the infusion and let cool completely.
  4. 4
Mix the cooled infusion with the remaining 750 ml water (still or sparkling) and add the lemon juice.
  5. 5
Taste and add an extra stevia leaf if you want it sweeter.
  6. 6
Add slices of cucumber, ginger or a sprig of rosemary as a flavoring if desired.
  7. 7
Serve immediately with ice, or store covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
