Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a blue-green microalgae that occurs naturally in mineral-rich waters. It is known worldwide as one of the most nutritionally rich natural superfoods. Spirulina powder is particularly rich in plant proteins, iron, vitamin B12, chlorophyll and various antioxidants. The pouches are made of paper with a compostable protective layer and are industrially compostable. In many municipalities, they can be disposed of with organic waste.
