Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate, also called bitter salt) is a natural mineral compound made up of magnesium and sulfate. It consists of clear, easily soluble crystals that disperse quickly in warm water. Applications Bath and foot bath: dissolve a generous amount of crystals in warm bath water or a foot bath. The crystals dissolve quickly and give the water a soft texture. Skin care and scrub: the coarse crystals can be used as an external scrub for hands, feet or elbows. Mix with a little oil or water for use and rinse thoroughly. Garden and plants: Epsom salt can be applied dissolved in water around plants or lightly worked into the soil. It is traditionally used for roses, tomatoes and peppers. Household use: the crystals can also be used to clean tiles, grout and other hard surfaces. Mix with water to a paste and rinse thoroughly after use.   Notes For external use and household or garden applications only.
