Description
Oregano is best known as a commonly used herb in Mediterranean cuisine. In Greek and Roman culture, this aromatic herb was the synonym for happiness and love. It was even offered to newlyweds to bless their union. But beyond faith and mysticism, oregano’s medicinal properties have been around since ancient times….
Oregano is an herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean region. Its nickname “wild marjoram” sometimes causes some confusion between Oregano and Marjoram. The two plants are indeed botanically “cousins” of each other, yet they remain two different aromatics. This lovely modest plant is recognizable in nature by its small pale pink to purple flowers, grouped like a bouquet, carried by red stems and a fine down.

Sustainable Packaging
Our herbs are packaged in resealable pouches that protect against light, air, and moisture, helping to preserve their aroma, quality, and properties as well as possible. The pouches are made of paper with a compostable protective layer and are industrially compostable. In many municipalities, they can be disposed of with organic waste. Home composting is also possible, although it may take a bit longer (about 1–2 years). More information about our packaging choice.
