Description
Lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) has been used for centuries to support the respiratory tract, as its name suggests. In the traditional doctrine of signatures, the spotted leaves were thought to resemble lung tissue — an ancient clue to the herb’s soothing effect on the throat and breath.
Lungwort contains mucilage, tannins, and saponins, which have a calming effect on the respiratory tract and help to ease breathing without suppressing it.
