Description
St John’s Wort Hydrosol is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering aerial parts of Hypericum perforatum, a sun-loving plant valued for its harmonising and soothing character. This hydrosol is suitable for both internal and external use and is mainly used during periods when balance and gentle support in times of tension are needed.
This hydrosol comes from L’Âme des Simples, a small-scale organic herb farm located in the Drôme Valley (France).
The plants are hand-harvested at full bloom and then traditionally distilled in a copper alembic heated over a wood fire. The slow distillation process (approximately four hours for 25 litres) ensures a gentle extraction of the aromatic compounds, respecting the plant’s natural rhythm and vitality. In this way, the warm, herbal and lightly floral character of St John’s wort is optimally preserved in the hydrosol.
