Description
Our organic Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) tincture has been valued in herbal medicine for centuries. This plant is known as the “mother of all herbs” and was traditionally used in folk culture during long journeys: leaves were placed in shoes to relieve tired feet. In the herbal tradition, mugwort is especially associated with digestion and supporting a balanced menstrual cycle.
Mugwort belongs to the same family as wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), but contains fewer bitter compounds and is therefore considered milder. In addition to its applications in Europe, mugwort also holds an important place in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where under the name moxa it has been used for thousands of years in heat treatments on acupuncture points.
The mugwort used for this tincture is grown and hand-harvested at Ferme Saussac, a small-scale organic farm in the southeast of France. Cultivation and processing are carried out in harmony with the seasons, with respect for nature and without synthetic additives.
What makes this tincture unique is the use of organic agave syrup during the extraction process – a typically French method that also releases compounds which cannot be extracted by alcohol alone. This results in a rich and complete extract, 100% natural.
