Calendula flowers have bright yellow to orange blooms and are often grown in gardens for their vibrant colour and easy cultivation. The most common species is Calendula officinalis.
Calendula ranks among the top herbs used for skin problems and care. It’s also a beloved ingredient in many herbal teas, mainly for its beautiful colour.

How to Prepare Organic Calendula Tea
Making an infusion is an ideal way to enjoy the benefits of organic calendula.
Here’s how to prepare a healthy cup:
- Use 1 to 2 tablespoons per cup
- Bring water to a boil and let it cool slightly before pouring
- Steep for 10 minutes
Herbal Combinations with Calendula
For digestive issues, combine with Marshmallow root and Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum).
As an antiseptic blend, pair with Goldenseal and Myrrh.
Culinary Use of Calendula
The petals contain yellow/orange pigment and can be used as a natural colourant in food such as cheese and butter.
Often used as a substitute for the expensive saffron.
