Tinctures

Tinctures or plant drops from Physalis are undiluted, concentrated hydroalcoholic extracts with a high content of active phytonutrients. The tinctures or plant drops are made from fresh plants – unless the use of fresh plants is not possible or desirable – from controlled organic cultivation. Depending on the moisture content and type of plant, about 5 to 20% (fresh) plant per liter of tincture is used. The finely ground plants (parts) are macerated in alcohol and water for at least three weeks and stirred daily. The combination of alcohol and water provide the extraction of many active ingredients. The alcohol in the solution also acts as a preservative. As a result, a stable plant extract is obtained. Afterwards, the macerate is decanted and the remaining plant matter squeezed out. The filtration ensures that one obtains a clear solution. Over time, some sediment may form at the bottom of the bottle. This is a normal process that does not compromise the quality of the product. Only after extensive analysis is the tincture released for sale.

The liquid plant extracts for Physalis are produced according to the regulations of the German or French pharmacopoeia, which indicate the plant part used (root, seed, leaf,…) and the alcohol percentage, so that the method of preparation is always uniform. This traditional production method guarantees a safe and efficient final product.
