Description
This Rose Hydrosol is obtained through steam distillation of the flowers of Rosa damascena, Rosa gallica L., and Rosa x gallica. The hydrosol supports the skin, heart, and hormonal balance, and is traditionally associated with love, beauty, and emotional harmony.
This hydrosol comes from L’Âme des Simples, a small-scale organic herb farm in the Drôme Valley (France).
They work according to ancient artisanal traditions: the plants are hand-grown, hand-harvested, and then slowly distilled in a copper still over a wood fire. This slow distillation (about four hours for 25 liters) stands in sharp contrast to the fast, large-scale production used by commercial companies. Because the entire process is gentle and non-invasive, the plant is given enough time to fully release its fragrance, active constituents, and essence.
